Ethernet
Chicane can provide bespoke dedicated connectivity solutions using a variety of technologies and selected carriers/ transit providers. Pricing for these services is always dependent on varying factors, such as location, desired contract length, scalability required etc. Therefore, please contact your nearest reseller or contact us to discuss your requirements, we would be delighted to help and advise.
Ethernet Internet Access
A Chicane Ethernet circuit provides un-contended (1:1) dedicated access to the Internet, through a fully managed Cisco / Juniper router at the customer premises, affording high availability, reliability and security.
- 10Mbps, 100Mbps or 1Gbps circuits can be quoted for
- Bandwidth can be scalable from 2Mbps, keeping costs in-line with requirements
- Standard 36 months contracts, however 24 months can be quoted for in some circumstances
- Premium ADSL fail-over included free of charge
- 30Mbps over 100Mbps Fibre Bearer is our most popular service
- Quotes can usually be provided within 24 hours
Ethernet PTP (Point-to-Point) Connection
To connect two sites together as though they were one, enabling employees to access servers and other resources in one location whilst residing in another (Cambridge to Peterborough for example). Any traffic flowing between these two sites is also private & secure, as any Internet breakout is done from the main site.
- 10Mbps, 100Mbps or 1Gbps PTP EAD circuits can be quoted for
- Endpoint hardware is not always necessary, existing switches can usually be used
- Standard 36 months contracts, however 24 months can be quoted for in some circumstances
- Service monitoring via dedicated ADSL circuit
- Quotes can usually be provided within 24 hours
Ethernet in the First Mile (EFM)
A relatively new technology that uses multiple copper pairs (as opposed to fibre) to provide Ethernet Internet access in speeds ranging from 2Mbps to 8Mbps. These solutions tend to be very cost effective and much quicker to implement than normal fibre-based leased lines, and available wherever 21CN is rolled out.
Leased Lines
Also known as an E1 circuit, and usually supplied at 2Mbps, a Leased Line is a good alternative in such UK locations where getting fibre access is difficult and/ or too cost-prohibitive.
Bonded Broadband
Also known as bonded ADSL, where resilience and higher speeds are required but budgets are somewhat tight, this service can provide the requirement at less of a cost. Chicane supply V2-line and V4-line bonded ADSL solutions, starting from £265 per month inclusive of new analogue lines, enhanced care, active circuit monitoring and a managed Cisco (or equivalent) router.
PWAN / MPLS
A PWAN, or Private Wide Area Network, is simply a WAN connecting a customer's office/ branch/ remote location using a combination of Internet technologies but remaining private by
- not breaking out to the Internet and
- using intelligent MPLS switching
